Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance & Reliability Manager to lead maintenance operations across capital‑intensive, heavy manufacturing environments. This critical leadership role is responsible for driving world‑class equipment reliability, developing a robust Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program, and leading a large team of skilled maintenance professionals.

The Maintenance & Reliability Manager will oversee both preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, reduce downtime and production losses, and support continuous improvement initiatives across multiple plants. This position manages approximately 16 direct reports and balances hands‑on technical involvement (40%) with people leadership and strategic management (60%).

We are seeking candidates with deep experience in heavy manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, supervise, and schedule electro‑mechanics and maintenance personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and cost‑effective maintenance operations.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs for critical production lines, ancillary equipment, material handling, dust collection, and reclaim systems.
  • Coordinate planned and unplanned maintenance activities to minimize production downtime and ensure compliance with safety and operating standards.
  • Partner with production leadership, project engineering, and external vendors to execute scheduled maintenance, emergency repairs, changeovers, and new equipment installations.
  • Track production losses and abnormal maintenance costs; perform root cause analysis and lead corrective action plans in collaboration with operations.
  • Utilize the MaintainX CMMS to review machine data, manage maintenance activities, and maintain a critical spares database across multiple plants.
  • Identify, source, and align critical spare parts and maintenance inventory to ensure equipment readiness.
  • Support reliability and maintainability efforts for new or modified equipment installations.
  • Actively participate in company initiatives such as Gemba walks, Kaizen events, Lean manufacturing efforts, and cost‑savings initiatives.
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with applicable codes, regulations, and manufacturer standards.
  • Lead and complete special projects, including capital projects, critical spares development, and reliability improvements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of technical maintenance experience in high‑volume, heavy manufacturing environments.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience, managing teams of 20+ maintenance personnel.
  • Proven experience with preventive, predictive, reactive, and autonomous maintenance programs.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with demonstrated success in root cause analysis and improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems; experience with MaintainX preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; AutoCAD, PLCs, ERP systems are a plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, decision‑making, and project management capabilities.
  • Solid financial acumen related to maintenance costs and capital planning.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and perform effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally to support other sites as needed.

Work Environment:
  • Combination of office and manufacturing environments.
  • Manufacturing conditions may include exposure to loud noise, extreme temperatures, dust/pigment, hazardous gases, and moving machinery.
  • Required use of PPE, including safety glasses, steel‑toe/composite boots, and hearing protection.

Physical & Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to move throughout manufacturing facilities as needed.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and safety awareness.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding and high‑pressure environments.
